What is IV Infusion Therapy

IV infusion therapy is effective and fast-acting. Usually, vitamin supplements are taken orally and go through the digestive system which may cause gastrointestinal intolerance and are often poorly absorbed. With IV infusions, the body receives the vitamins and minerals by injecting the solution directly into the bloodstream. This process bypasses the digestive system which allows the client to feel the positive effects almost instantly. They are compounded/mixed at Sunnybrook Hospital for optimal safety and quality.

IV - ENERGY was developed to provide the necessary vitamins and minerals for effective energy while optimizing electrolyte balance and remaining isotonic to blood. This infusion improves the levels of vitamins and minerals which help to correct deficiencies such as anaemia, insomnia, electrolyte imbalances, stress, and thyroid conditions.

The key vitamins in this infusion are Thiamine (Vitamin B1), Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and Vitamin D. Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Chloride, Phosphate, Gluconate, Acetate, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), d-Panthenol (pro-Vitamin B5), Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6), Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Vitamin A, Vitamin E.

How does it work?

The IV infusion is contained in a sterile bag made of extremely high-quality medical-grade plastic that does not contain PVC / DEHP (Plasticizer) and may cause health concerns for some people. The solutions are formulated to be isotonic to minimize vein and red blood cells damage with electrolyte concentrations that are carefully chosen to reduce adverse events.

Specifically, sodium and chloride are minimized where possible to help reduce fluid retention post-infusion, and critical electrolytes like potassium are added in quantities that closely mimic the composition of blood.

These components will be tailored to the body’s current needs and are designed to improve energy, enhance the immune system, improve athletic training, recovery, hydration, and skin conditions.

Treatment

The IV infusion is contained in a 500 mL IV bag and is administered over a 30 minute period. This is a size that ensures that the patient receives vitamins and minerals that otherwise may not have been reached for a variety of reasons; such as a lack of dietary intake, medication-induced deficiencies or age-related deficiencies, as well as it does not take too much time out of the schedule of the

patient. Can repeat the treatment every 3 weeks.

Risks of intravenous therapy including but are not limited to:

Occasionally:

Discomfort, bruising and pain at the site of injection.

Rarely: Inflammation of the vein used for injection, phlebitis, metabolic disturbances, and injury.

Extremely Rare: Severe allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, infection, cardiac arrest, and death.

Supplements

Farsk also offers a line of Canadian made oral supplements that are vegan, high-grade, and designed with you in mind for Weight Loss, Sleep. Beauty, and Immune Booster.

After Care Instructions

Congratulations on completing your IV drip treatment.

The effects are almost immediate for most patients, so you should start feeling the results right away!

After the treatment is complete, we advise the following:

1. Leave the bandage on for at least 15 minutes. After this time, most people will have stopped the small bleeding that happens after removing the needle: however, if you are still experiencing some light bleeding, replace the cotton pad with a new one and hold in place by applying gentle pleasure.

2. Keep the area clean and dry for at least 1-hour post-treatment.

3. Avoid intense activity or any stress to the puncture site for 24 hours after the treatment.

Please note that even though our IV drip infusions are clinically tested and stability tested and its ingredients are premium and safe, everyone is unique and you could experience the effects of the treatment differently, and we are not able to foresee if your body particularly will have a different reaction.

This should not be a cause of concern unless you experience an adverse reaction, which can occur if any of the ingredients on the IV formula interact unexpectedly with any residues in your body, or if there are existing or potential medical conditions we are unaware of.

Seek immediate medical assistance if:

• The bleeding from the puncture area has not stopped after 30 minutes.

• A large bruise develops on the puncture site.

• You develop swelling at the puncture area that will not dissipate after 24 hours.

• You develop any numbness around the puncture site or on the entire arm.

• You develop shortness of breath, a rash, or an itching sensation -this could be a sign of an allergic reaction.

• If you develop a fever.
