How is the procedure done?
Topical anesthetics is applied one hour prior to the treatment. A sterile and disposable cartridge containing precision medical grade micro needles is attached to the tip of the SkinPen. A thin layer of topical serum is applied to your skin and the depth of needles that is dialed in is determined by the area being treated and your skin type. The process creates thousands of precise micro-injuries in the dermis to a depth of .025 mm to 2 mm. This triggers new collagen synthesis without causing new scar tissue formation. There will be 3 passes over the area being treated in 3 different directions. Your skin will respond with tiny pin-point bleeding. The more aggressive the treatment, the more bleeding and the more downtime.
What does it feel like?
The unique design of the SkinPen allows for individualized settings which makes the treatment amazingly comfortable for most patients. You may feel vibrations from the SkinPen.

What is the downtime?
Immediately following the treatment, you will notice a healthy red glow. Within 12-24 hours your skin should fade from red to pink and the swelling should go down. You will apply the remaining Lift product.
Day 1: On the next day, you may cleanse your skin as usual and apply RESCUE and Allumier MD SPF40 or an approved SPF30 or greater sunscreen.
Days 2-7: Within two (2) days following your microneedling procedure, you will notice skin dryness and flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. During this period, you may apply your regular skin moisturizer. Follow the instructions given to you by your medical professional. Days later, your skin will start shedding. These are skin layers that would regularly shed a week later, but the microneedling brings this skin to the surface sooner. During this temporary process, your skin will shed and be dry. You may use your regular skin care products once your skin is not irritated.
Days 7+: A week after the microneedling procedure, most patients notice that their skin is smoother and more radiant. Continue with sun protection every day and reapply every 2 hours if outdoors.
When will I see results?
Most patients notice healthier looking skin immediately. However, the natural repair process of your own skin continues to progress over the course of several weeks. Keep in mind dermal collagen remodeling takes place overtime, it is not realistic to expect damage that has occurred over an extended period to disappear immediately. You may not see the final result until up to 6 months following your final session.
How may treatments will I need?
It is recommended to have 3 treatments one 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, and acne scars, it is recommended to received 6-8 sessions at 6 week intervals.
